How the free health check works
- 1
Tell us your peer group
Platform, industry and licensed user count. That decides which benchmark distribution you are measured against — a 30-person nonprofit is not judged against a 5,000-seat bank.
- 2
Answer 3 questions
These are the 3 dimensions that separate a healthy org from a struggling one most sharply — chosen by which ones move the peer ranking furthest, not by which sound most important. Each is readable off a Setup page in under 30 seconds.
- 3
See where you rank, then sharpen it
Your percentile against that peer group, a breakdown by dimension, and every answer that fell below the median. The other 7 questions sit underneath your score and refine it as you answer them — stop whenever you like. No email required to see any of it.
What a questionnaire cannot tell you
Two dimensions of org health cannot be self-reported with any accuracy, so this check does not pretend to score them. They are measured only when Buildforce reads your org directly:
- Performance
- Apex execution times, API call volume against your limits, and storage headroom, read from your org limits and debug data
- Technical Debt
- Unused fields and objects, deprecated API versions still in use, and dead metadata, inventoried across your org
Common questions
- Do I need an account to run the free health check?
- No. Three questions produce a score, which appears immediately on the page. Seven more are offered underneath it and sharpen the result as you answer them, but they are optional and you can stop at any point. An account is only needed if you want Buildforce to measure your org directly rather than score what you reported.
- What is my score compared against?
- Benchmark distributions for your industry and organization size band — the same benchmark data the full Buildforce health check uses. You are ranked by percentile against that peer group, not against an absolute grade.
- Why do I get a score after only three questions?
- Because those three are the dimensions that separate orgs most sharply. They were chosen by measuring which questions move a peer ranking furthest against the benchmark distributions, so three answers already place you against your peer group with a real number. The remaining seven narrow it, and every result states plainly how many of the ten it is based on.
- What if I do not know the answer to a question?
- Choose "I am not sure". That dimension is left out of your score entirely rather than filled with a guess, and it is listed in your results as something a connected health check would measure directly.
- How accurate is a self-reported health check?
- It is an estimate built from your own answers, not a measurement of your org. It is accurate enough to show where you sit relative to peers and which areas deserve attention first. Performance and technical debt cannot be self-reported at all and require a live connection.
